We all can learn from the authors of this book that the type of fats we consume determines the type of fatty acids present in our cell membranes. Further we can read that “an alteration in cell membrane function is the central factor in the development of virtually every disease”. Food for thought. Who wants clear and correct understanding?

Find Ideal “assisted living facilites” for our parents and for other seniors and elders . . . . .

Today’s post is for mature adults of all ages who have an open mind to the prevention of unnessary health and wellness problems in society and who are willing to sort through the selection of good, better and the best practices for ideeaaal, optimum and perfect solutions for Canadians of all ages!

Let’s look at the first seven years and the next seventy years and then let’s look closely all over again at what is still ahead for all of us as a unique community and as a society!!!

Last evening and this morning I was connecting dots . . . . .and …..I see a picture which I will reconstruct for you in words today and in pictures next week.     I’m wanting to action up my new camcorder! I see the need for a complete series of pilot projects!  Do You?

1. CDC states that in 2007 there were 18,000 falls that resulted in unintentional death.

2. consider popularizing a thorough assessment  and find practices which can help to avoid future falls.

3. engage a physical therapist to evaluate functional strength, balance and vertigo.

4. schedule a thorough and complete physical.  Articulate why.

5. clean up clutter and arrange to keep this (pilot) home organized and scrutinized.

6. establish guidelines for assisted living facilities and locate or build a prototype or two. I’m told that healthy homes breathe, emit no toxic gases and are mold resistant.                           who would be satisfied with anything less?   who will support this unique project?          . . . . . Still skeptical? Ask to see the full proposal.

7. Dr. Chauncy Crandall says the simple changes he advocates prevent, reverse and cure heart disease and many other health and wellness illnesses. Who is interested?

8. I see the need for a well done video taping and revenue generating service.

9. Feed my sheep and feed my lambs and feed the flock of God which is among you!!!

Who sees the enormous value for all of Canada and for all Canadians including yourself, your family and your friends???

Who is interested in assisting in some tangible way and/or helping out?

can seniors learn to work and play and interact and socialize all day long in healthy ways . . . . .

I believe that we can and I believe that we should investigate and explore what to do and how to do all the things that need to be done and in what order,                             and God willing, we will discover exactly how.

I believe that it is the right season and it is the right time!

At 76, and 26 days, I’m now looking at my Fourth (4th) Quarter.

If my take on the many difficulties, ailments and ills of Canadians                              from the first 2 to 5 to the last 25 years is correct then . . . . .

God willing, if and when this is complete there will be overtime for many after that.

“I wish that I had had this understanding fifty (50) years ago!”

This posting is for all adults and all seniors and all elders and all others who are at this time still actively seeking and searching for God with all of their heart.

Jeremiah 29.13 in my bible reads: “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

It goes on to say: “And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and . . . . .”

II Chronicles 7.14 reads:  (1)  If my people, which are called by my name,                    (2) shall humble themselves,                                                                                         (3) and pray,                                                                                                                      (4) and seek my face,                                                                                                     (5) and turn from their wicked ways;

then will I hear from heaven,                                                                                          and will forgive their sin,                                                                                                 and will heal their land.

Understanding like this, stirs my heart!

Further studies are obviously warranted,

but it appears at this point in time that low blood levels of Vitamin D3 are associated with the onset of vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. So, if you are interested in taking better care of yourself and others and perhaps you want to prevent vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s too, here is what we are told we can do:

test with the 25-hydroxyvitmin D blood test.

get blood levels up to 30ng/mL and preferrably over 40 ng/mL.

supplement with 1,000 – 2,000 i.u. per day with Vitamin D3

or increase sunblock free time in the sun.

– by how much is not stated, so that is one more nut for us active trail-blazing seniors (and elders) to crack!       – please let me know how you make out.

“There are many compelling reasons to take measures to increase Vitamin D consumption,” but . . . . .

Professor Bischoff-Ferrari proposes to study 2,000 seniors in their 70s with factures, cardiovascular and functional disability and with immunity and cognitive endpoints.

NIH in the U.S. reportedly has called for a 20,000+ subject trial with seniors over 60.

My suggestion is Canada promote full functional fitness and optimum wellness immediately for all adults over 50! and all senior Canadians in their 60s and 70s!!

………………………………..and then all elder Canadians in their 80s and 90s!!

A call to action was sounded and I do concur!

1, raise awareness of the problem.   2, understand the consequences of micronutrient deficiency.   3, do more research.     4, provide fact-based information on the role of micronutrients in minimizing the burden of disease and the savings on health care costs.   5, ensure health professionals can offer effective nutrition care programs. (in my view, #5 is a stretch for several reasons.)

A Mr. Toni Kractwijk posted this advice April 14, 2011:    1) just start yourself!             2) don’t give health into the hands of govenment            3) use a good supplement (there is a legitimate debate on this one!)     4) enjoy the sun outside       5) or use a tanning salon inside       6) measure your vitamin A status once or twice a year by a simple blood test, and then you know!  . . . . . . . . and Toni, I tend to agree with you!
